Notary PublicA Notary is a member of the oldest branch of the legal profession in the United Kingdom and holds an internationally recognised public office. The duty and function of a Notary is to prepare, attest, authenticate and certify deeds and other documents, for use anywhere in the world. By virtue of the international status of his office, a notary’s signature and official seal are acceptable as proof of the matter attested by him to the judicial or other public authorities in the country where they are to be used. Katie Mantin is a Solicitor and is also qualified, by examination and appointment by the Archbishop of Canterbury, to hold the office of a Notary Public. In accordance with the Notaries Society recommendations, Katie’s hourly charge for notarial work is £180, with a minimum set fee of £75. In addition there may be fees to pay the Foreign & Commonwealth and/or Embassy or Consulate if legalisation is necessary. It is important that a Notary is contacted as early on as possible as requirements vary from country to country and further authentication from the Foreign Commonwealth Office or applicable Consulate may be necessary. |
